Community person Queen Mother Reverend Cameron along with community activist, and Babalawo Menes De Grio, join in the spirit of KWAANZA to host KWAANZA CELEBRATIONS on January 2nd. 2011. Though falling outside what is accepted as the traditional KWAANZA period the organizers had to make this adjustment as elemental forces denied them the opportunity to celebrate at the originally planned time. These challenges have not deterred their celebratory and thanksgiving spirits from selecting an appropriate alternative date to invite the community to come together to celebrate our heritage and give thanks for our accomplishments and to collectively strategise as to how to avoid our short comings.
The celebration will be held from 1.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.
VENUE : 465 FENIMORE STREET
between BROOKLYN AVENUE and NEW YORK AVENUE.
Libations will be poured,their will be presentations on NGUZO SABA, Drumming, Poetry, Dancing and pure healthy celebrations.
All members of the community are invited to come along and join in this celebration of thanksgiving for renewed life, and for the opportunity to move forward for another year in faith and unity to rid ourselves from the imprisoning and debilitating forces situations and circumstances that continue to plague our communities.
