EGBE ONISIN ELEDUMARE , has been finctional in Ile Iere ati Ile Alobera since 1971. Led by our Grand Matriarch –  Iya Ijo Louisa Catherine Toussaint,the organization engaged the spiritual, social, and cultural forces of our society to reclaim and re – establish our Ancient spiritual and cultural traditions here in Ile- Iereati Ile – Aloubera – Republic Trinidad & Tobago.

Iya Ijo Louisa Catherine  Toussaint, was a prominent member of the Ethipoian Orthodox Church,  based in Arouca, Trinidad, and was one of the welcoming parties to H.I. M. Emperor Haile Selassie I, when he visited Trinidad & Tobago. In the highlighted video  Iya Ijo Louisa Catnerine Tossaint,  is seen at 8.26,  holding an open object in her hands.

Iya Ijo Louisa Catherine Toussaint, was among early pioneers attempting to reassert the use of Yoruba language in our Yoruba rituals here in Ile Iere – Trinidad. She was an indefatigable worker in the interest of her race and community and NEVER GAVE UP. She worked relentlessly with one and all to ensure that the African in Trinidad & Tobago had a high sense of pride and dignity within his/her self.

Iya Ojo,  as she was fondly called was patient, kind and always had words of wisdom to render to all who visited her and spent a few moments of their time with her.

There is no way that we could have concluded the celebration of African History Month,without celebrating this great soul, teacher, mother ,counselor, and friend to many from all walks of life, color,creed and race,from all nationalities and nations.
