CHIEF OLOKUN IGBARO ON HIS WAY

Front cover of program for Thanksgiving Service held for Chief Olokun Igbaro yesterday at Scarborough,Tobago.Republic Trinidad & Tobago engaged in what many may consider the closing and final rites for  former President and Prime Minister of Republic Trinidad & Tobago Chief Olokun Igbaro Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson TC, OCC, SC. Among the many persons, and Tobagonians in particular turned out by their  thousands, was Oluto Alagba of the  Council of Traditional Afrikan Chiefs of Trinidad & Tobago – Oloye Orawale Oranfe Ife – Olakela Massetungi, Balogun of Egbe Onisin Eledumare – Ogundiran Ogunkeye and Alga Egbe Onisin Eledumare – Omokehinde Titilayo Ogunkeye – Kerina Dick Antoine. The team from the Orisa community was in communication with the President of  The International Council for Ifa Religion – Balogun Agbaye – OLOYE IDOWU ODEYEMI  from the evening before. The team had intended to be at theState  Ecumenical Service held at Dwight Yorke Stadium  , but flight difficulties out of Trinidad only allowed for their participation at the Thanksgiving Service at the Scarborough Methodist Church, Fort Street, Scarborough. To the best of our knowlwedge Caribbean Airlines  had a mechanical challenge with one of their carriers and we were held up for hours on standby. During our delay we had contact with Balogun Agbaye with a hope to affording him an opening at the funerary service. As the Orisa community perhaps surprised those who planned the event, the opportunity did not present itself. Prior to the State activities that commemorated the life of former President and Prime Minister of Republic Trinidad & Tobago COTACTT through it’s Oluto Alagba Oloye Orawale Oranfe, had engaged the Office of the President of the Republic Trinidad & Tobago attempting to indicate the neccessity of repescting the title of  OLOKUN IGBARO OF IFE  conferred on our former President by the  Ooni of Ife Kabiyesi Sijuade Okunade Olubuse II. The Office of the President in it’s attempt to be cooperative referred  COTACTT to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocols Division , in  a view to have memberss of  COTACCT formally invited to participate in the celebratory rites as fellow Chief of Ife and African and Yoruba sacred science traditions.  These arrangements were never  formally realised. COTACTT  intends to continue to persue these matters of protocol and recognition and acceptance of Oloye/ Chief in  Republic Trinidad & Tobago. The traffic coordination and management for the event was well effected by the security and other personnell who handled the direct conducting of those affairs. COTACTT OFFICIALS ARE HOPING TO CONDUCT OTHER APPROPRIATE RITES FOR AND ON BEHALF OF CHIE OLOKUN IGBARO ARTHUR NAPOLEON RAYMOND ROBINSON.
