Gregorian calendar year 2010 has arrived. With it has come HOPE and TRAGEDY.
As we are all now aware that anearthquake of 7.0 magnitude devastated HAITI,within two weeks of the year opening.
This has resulted in several humanitarian efforts worldwide to releive the people of HAITI of thier immediate pain and suffering.
Food items, clothes, water, medical supplies, were all gathered and is being now distributed to the victims of this catastrophe.
Some organizations like Isese Agbaye Worldwide Community, EGBE ONISIN ELEDUMARE, and Emancipation Support Committee of Trinidad & Tobago have taken the long term view of the rehabilitation and restoration of HAITI.
This view inclides the Spiritual restoration of theTraditional African spiritualities and theologies before the Earthquake.
Of course many of the Humanitarian groups that have went into HAITI are classified and designated as faith-based-organizations, and have their peculiar theologies that they may assume is best for the people of HAITI.
OUR HOPE IS THAT THESE HUMANITARIANS RESPECT THE RIGHT AND FREEDOM OF CHOICE OF THE HAITIAN PEOPLE TO PRATICE A SPIRITUALITY AND OUR RELIGION OF THEIR CHOICE AND IF NECESSARY THEIR OWN MAKING.
As Egbe Onisin Eledumare launches it’s EMANCIPATION DAY ACTIVITIES and events leading up to and into EMANCIPATION DAY ,AUGUST,1, 2010 this will be one ofour concerns, and already preliminary action has been engaged in to ensure that this concern is positively resolved in favour of the HAITIAN people.
Our prayers and petitions for HAITI would be brought before OLOKUN as we propitiate the COSMOS for intervention and opportunity for restoration and rehabilitation.
Our major theme for EMANCIPATION DAY 2010 is :SPIRITUAL RESTORATION AND REHABILITATION OF AFRICAN SPIRITUALITIES IN HAITI.
WE INTEND TO EXPLORE THIS THEME IN SEVERAL UNIQUE WAYS THAT WILL BE REVEALED AND ANNOUNCED AS WE MOVE TOWARDS AUGUST 1, 2010.
ORGANIZE DON’T AGONIZE!
