WORDS OF OLOYE ORAWALE ORANFE TO THE NATION OF REPUBLIC TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 2017

Contemplating the coming future

Contemplating the coming future

Praises to all intelligences and energies that have sustained our planet and our lives.

We are now completing one gregorian year cycle and opening the gates for yet another cycle of planetary life.

Earth and the many  political  entities on this planet are in  disarray.

The peoples of many Nations are demanding JUSTICE and equality of opportunity to enjoy life and live comfortable on this planet.

The many are fed up with the  agendas of the few who  continue to trample upon the RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE.

Tough all of this is present, there is hope. The people are not lying down and bowing to the oppressive and unjust laws that they are experiencing.

This malaise is also here in our own  society. One government has exited the halls of governance and has been  replaced by another. Yet the situation worsens. Those who labour do not hold the reins nor the reign.

What will we like to leave as a legacy for our children and our children’s children?

As we enter this “new” cycle.I pray that it is love, equality and justice for all that  we would all love to experience in this  beloved land of ours.

Where do we  start?

At the beginning.

Resolve the issues of INVASION AND OCCUPATION,OF SLAVERY AND INDENTURE and then there shall be peace.

This decade – 2015- 2024 has been proclaimed by the United Nations  as: International Decade for People of African Descent. This decade is supposed to bring us  recognition, justice and development. Is it? What are the provisions being made by our government and our society at large to ensure that these goals are attained.

A PEOPLE WITHOUT GRATITUDE PERISHES.

I have sounded the WORD, time and time  again.

All citizens of our country, let us raise our voices to ensure that the monies and riches that this  country has been blessed with  be utilised EFFECTIVELY, to correct the WRONGS/INJUSTICES of the Colonial Era.

There is urgent need to deal with the issue of RESTORATION of the RIGHTS of the First Nations/Indigenous  People that CRISTOBAL COLON – Christopher Columbus met here. Let  put in place immediately the mechanisms and social structures that would allow for this to be implemented IN THIS DECADE.

THERE IS URGENT NEED TO ENSURE THAT THE ISSUES OF REPARATIONS TO OUR AFRICAN POPULATIONS IN THE CARIBBEAN AND AMERICAS -NORTH AND SOUTH BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.

Since 2013 at the 34th Regular Meeting of CARICOM held in Chaguramas Republic Trinidad & Tobago CARICOM States agreed to seek “REPARATIONS FOR SLAVERY AND THE GENOCIDE OF THE NATIVE  PEOPLES” of the Caribbean. Since the  several Caribbean territories have formed National Reparations Committees with a view to ensuring that that  decision made in Republic Trinidad& Tobago become MANIFEST.

The time is now to take affirmative and positive action in our regions. Governments who would not implement  serious action  to manifest this agreement should either step down from office  or be voted out by the people in each geopolity where no action to make this  a reality.

To better act we must be informed. Do follow the links attached here to learn more  about the International Decade for People of African Descent.

In concluding I ask for ALL AFRICAN ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS IN OUR COUNTRY TO MOVE BEYOND POSTURING AND TRULY COME TOGETHER FOR POSITIVE ACTION.THE TIME IS NOW.

ENIYAN WA 15TH ANNUAL EGUNGUN FESTIVAL 2013 A SUCCESS

Eniyan Wa an African spiritual organization led by Otun Iyalode Awo Agbaye Ifakemi Aworeni  – Valerie Stephenson Lee Chee, has been functional in Republic Trinidad & Tobago for several years now and have highlighted and hosted Glede Festivals, Egun and Egungun Festivals and activities here in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.

The organization has added to the colour and diversity of Trinidad & Tobago African/ Yoruba spiritual and sacred science manifestation and retentions of our African heritage .

It can be listed and identified as among those organizations that some scholars have identified as innovators of  a ” new” African sacred science narrative, that has in the main manifested itself  as a direct consequence of the ” Black Power Revolution of 1970 ” that took place then in Republic Trinidad & Tobago.

The organization has continued to grow and spread it’s knowledge and information of African and Yoruba sacred science traditions. Like most of the ” new ” organizations that are very much Yoruba and African theology and Cosmology centred and oriented it has developed it’s distinct identity.

Yesterday marked the 15th. Annual Egungun Celebration of the organization that was held at the organization’s grounds at Tableland.

The day was wet, but not inclement.

There was early activitivities that included ebo that was in the main attended by Eniyan and Egbe Onisin Eledumare.

Later on members of Otura Meji Shrine  Ile Awon Osun and others joined in the day celebrations and welcoming of the Egungun masquerades.

Food and drink, was share din abundance. There was drumming, dancing, singing, and there was a high and happy festive atmosphere.
