ENIYAN WA 15TH ANNUAL EGUNGUN FESTIVAL 2013 A SUCCESS

Eniyan Wa an African spiritual organization led by Otun Iyalode Awo Agbaye Ifakemi Aworeni  – Valerie Stephenson Lee Chee, has been functional in Republic Trinidad & Tobago for several years now and have highlighted and hosted Glede Festivals, Egun and Egungun Festivals and activities here in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.

The organization has added to the colour and diversity of Trinidad & Tobago African/ Yoruba spiritual and sacred science manifestation and retentions of our African heritage .

It can be listed and identified as among those organizations that some scholars have identified as innovators of  a ” new” African sacred science narrative, that has in the main manifested itself  as a direct consequence of the ” Black Power Revolution of 1970 ” that took place then in Republic Trinidad & Tobago.

The organization has continued to grow and spread it’s knowledge and information of African and Yoruba sacred science traditions. Like most of the ” new ” organizations that are very much Yoruba and African theology and Cosmology centred and oriented it has developed it’s distinct identity.

Yesterday marked the 15th. Annual Egungun Celebration of the organization that was held at the organization’s grounds at Tableland.

The day was wet, but not inclement.

There was early activitivities that included ebo that was in the main attended by Eniyan and Egbe Onisin Eledumare.

Later on members of Otura Meji Shrine  Ile Awon Osun and others joined in the day celebrations and welcoming of the Egungun masquerades.

Food and drink, was share din abundance. There was drumming, dancing, singing, and there was a high and happy festive atmosphere.

When the masquerades appeared there was a street procession .

DAY 4 – AFRICAN HISTORY MONTH in REPEBULIC TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Africans in the Americas and Diaspora in general have been faced with maany challenges and difficulties. Many of us still hate ourselves. We scorn traditional African spirituality and think it gross and primitive. Many of us prefer to chant to Bhudda or Krsn and consider this sophisticated.
As we engage this month, let us applaud ourselves for our many triumphs and successes.

PREPARATIONS TAKING PLACE IN T& T FOR FIESTA DEL CARIBE

While many persons are interested in attending the Fieta del Caribe to be held in Santiago de Cuba , Republic of Cuba ,there seems to be a deafening silence and a lack of public information on this upcoming event. Several Ngo’s have expressed their enthusiasm to attend this event. Many are engaging the challenge of attending within their means. Let’s hope that our current government is willing to SERVE THE PEOPLE .As a country let us positively utilise this situation to build a stronger bond of unity in the Caribbean.

WELL DESERVED WIN

The Trinidad & Tobago Women’s under 17 team were rewarded with a well deserved win in today’s football fixture of the FIFA Women’s Under 17 football tournament currently taking place in Ile – Iere, Republic Trinidad & Tobago, Caribbean.

The Trinidad & Tobago team played hard, determined, and exhibited good self esteem and confidence. They ran hard and showed that they were fit ,although some players went under with cramps.

The goal keeping was excellent  and the backs played a successful defence game.

The weak point seemed in my eyes to be our throws. We were unable to utilise these opportunities as successfully as they should have been. There was good team interaction and the passing was good.

The teams left the field at half time at 1 – 0 in favour of Republic Trinidad & Tobago.

Second half saw Trinidad & Tobago increase that lead to 2- 0.

Chile was able to receive a goal from a free kick awarded them, in which the Trinidad & Tobago goal keep didn’t seem to anticipate the power of the ball.

Congratulations to the entire team that includes technical staff, trainers ,coaches ,physical therapists and trainers and all other support staff and personnel.

May our ” girls ” maintain the high level of discipline and enthusiasm that they demonstrated this evening.

May they grow in strength and confidence and reap continued success.

LET YOUR RESULTS CONTINUE TO SPEAK ON YOUR BEHALF.
