SIMEON ROAD VILLAGE COUNCIL ON THE MOVE

This evening several residents, old and young gathered at the Simeon Road Youth Center Basketball Court to initiate the forward process of taking charge of the affairs in their community.

While from a mathematical perspective this turnout only represents a minority of the community,it was encouraging to see pro-action being taken by the community.

At least thirty households,if not more were represented.

There was an average of fifty – five persons present representing a cross section of the community. The meeting lasted about 1 .5 hrs.

The Adhoc Committee that organized the Meeting presented their case for the rejuvenation of community responsibility and were supported by those in attendance.

Among the Elders present were Mrs. Williams, Siter Ava, Eager, Amada, Cardboard, Nick, Sandra and others.

The use of aliases and familiar names here is intentional and not meant as a disrespect.

The Committee asked for names to be nominated to hold the key administrative positions. The community is encouraged to make their nominations in writing and nominations may be dropped off at  ”  Tasha’s  ” business place.

An Announcement was made by Ms. Vanessa, on an on going education exercise hosted by the S.D.A. on health related issues. She offered her support for the Committee. She said that the next lecture presentation will be July, 3, 2010 and the topic is  ”  Hypertension Prevention and control  ”

There was contributions from the floor and the general mood was one of anticipation for the progress that must come.

Egbe Onisin Eledumare was represented by it’s Balogun.

We pray for the continued success of this effort.

  2. I think that what you posted was actually very logical. However, what about this? what if you typed a catchier post title? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean SIMEON ROAD VILLAGE COUNCIL ON THE MOVE | EGBE ONISIN ELEDUMARE is kinda plain. You should peek at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create post titles to get people to open the links. You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to get people interested about everything’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would bring your blog a little bit more interesting.
